Iconic singer, songwriter, musician, actress and philanthropist Dolly Parton will perform her newly released single Together You And I on The Tonight Show July 22, in the middle of her live tour.
The uplifting DOLLY original composition is the first offering from her Better Day album that’s due in stores Tuesday, June 28 via Dolly Records distributed through Warner Music Nashville.
DOLLY says Together You And I was chosen as Better Day’s first single “because everyone seems to love it. It’s got a beautiful melody; it is a very positive sounding song and I love positive love songs. I am kind of like a hopeless romantic, I believe that love can just last forever, or at least that it should! Sometimes forever is not as long as we’d like to believe,” she adds, “but it’s like ‘Together you and I can stop the rain and make the sun shine’ and just make it all happen as long as we’re together. So it can be a love song or it can be just about love in general. Just human love and love around the world.”
Following the release of Better Day, Dolly will kick-off a world tour July 17 in Knoxville, Tennessee, with the trek including two nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (July 22 and 23). After wrapping the U.S. dates August 3, the tour moves overseas for 18 shows in England, Ireland, Denmark and Sweden starting August 20.
