Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope artist Scotty McCreery has soared into the Top 25 after only three weeks of the release of his history-making debut single, I Love You This Big.
He will perform the song on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday.
The song jumped three slots, from No. 28 to No. 25, on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart this week, giving it an increase of 3.5 million more listeners than the previous week. The song had the highest debut on this chart for a new artist’s first single since 1984.
During the last few days, Scotty made his debut performance on the Grand Ole Opry, performed with Josh Turner on LP Field during CMA Music Fest and began recording his debut album. He is now back in Los Angeles to begin rehearsals for the American Idols Live tour that begins July 6 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and runs through September.
He will perform on ABC’s Good Morning America on Aug. 12 on the Summer Concert Stage in Central Park. Scotty and Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina will perform solo and in a group number with Idol’s Top 11.
