“The Playboy brand is known internationally,” KSL-TV president and CEO Mark Willes said in a statement. “Everyone is clear what it stands for. We want to be sure everyone is clear what the KSL brand stands for, which is completely inconsistent with the Playboy brand.”
And so, KSL-TV of Salt Lake City, an NBC affiliate will not intermingle its airwaves with The Playboy Club program this September.
NBC entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said last month that The Playboy Club is “tame compared to what you’d see on Jersey Shore.”
Likely KSL doesn’t broadcast Snooki either.
“While we are disappointed with KSL’s decision,” someone at NBC said in a statement, “we are confident that the show will find another home in the Salt Lake City market.”
So there.
