Field of Vision (June 11th, 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, NBC) is an original movie with a sci-fi element to it, but that’s just part of the story – at least that’s what the film’s star Faith Ford (Murphy Brown) tells EntertainmentHeartbeat.com.

Ford plays a school guidance counselor whose own children become involved with a student.

“We have a new kid that comes into school that’s an orphaned child and he’s going to get bullied all because he’s a new kid, he doesn’t know anybody and he happens to be smart,” she relates.

OK, there is a magic video cam, but the more important parts of Field of Vision are the choices that her on-screen children make while they’re involved with that camcorder.

“My son picks up [the new student] and they get a relationship going,” she points out. “What my son is really faced with is the tough decision of doing the right thing when he knows that his friends are not treating this kid right.”

In short, it’s a question the moral highroad.

We’re guessing that it all turns out OK in the end – especially considering this is one of those family movie night flicks – and we’re onboard for the ride.
