Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina gave it their all on American Idol Tuesday night and now their fate is in the hands of the fans.
Alaina was working at a disadvantage having strained her vocal chords during rehearsals – but you wouldn’t have known it to hear her sing. The singer belted out each number with power and enthusiasm.
Backstage she was resting her voice – obviously instructed not to speak, but she was clearly happy with her performance.
McCreery was in tip-top vocal shape before, during and after that final competition. And though he was content with his delivery, he wasn’t interested in second guessing his musical numbers or what today’s outcome would be.
“I think I went out there and did my best,” he begins. “I went out there and I left everything on the stage and that’s all I can do. It’s in America’s hands now.”
McCreery and Alaina are buddies both on as well as off camera – so when her voice took a hit, McCreery was feeling her pain…but was sure she’s still rock out.
“I was feeling for her at first, but I knew she’s come through,” McCreery stresses. “She came through in a big way. That last song she did had me watering up in the eyes.”
The next American Idol is chosen tonight beginning 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
