The Oak Ridge Boys have launched to new levels through the power of social networking by generating about 84 million impressions during last night’s TweetChat (#CMchat).

A live chat was hosted by Internet powerhouse Jessica Northey in celebration of the award-winning group’s release of its new CD, It’s Only Natural and the 30th anniversary of “Elvira”.

Northey, founder of Country Music Chat on Twitter and owner of Finger Candy Media, LLC, says teaming with the mighty Oaks for the action-packed event proved an unparalleled and remarkable success. “My fingers are still so sore from trying to keep up with the chat last night. Any artist or band could learn from the Oak Ridge Boys about how to engage with their fans,” she says.  “I am still receiving thanks and tweets from people talking about how incredible the OAKS were. I don’t know if my Tweetdeck has recovered from the volume of tweets,” Northey adds.

Hosted weekly, #CMchat (Where Country Music Meets You) has generated more than 300 million impressions. The entertainment forum is the first and only registered live Country Music Chat on Twitter.

Poppy Montgomery – Memories are “Unforgettable”

Poppy Montgomery stars as Carrie Wells, an enigmatic NYPD detective with a rare ability that makes her physically incapable of forgetting any memory. Photo: Robert Ascroft/CBS © 2011 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Unforgettable revolves around Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery), an NYPD detective who remembers every single day of her life…in detail.

Sounds farfetched, but the star of the show says she spent time with actress Marilu Henner, who has the gift…and was willing to share stories with Poppy Montgomery.

It didn’t take long for Montgomery to realize that, though her memory can be exceptional, it’s hardly comparable to Marilu Henner’s recall abilities.

“It depends on what day,” she jokes. “Some days it’s really good. If I eat right and sleep right it’s good. It’s not as good as Marilu Henner’s…there’s no question there.”

And apparently total recall is a gift rather than a learned talent.

“Certainly for Marilu, when I talked to her, it’s how her mind works,” Montgomery insists. “She’s fantastic and she’s got so much energy and bubbly and she’s bright and interesting. I think I drilled her so much on memory that she was exhausted, the poor thing.”

Still, the actress wouldn’t necessarily want to remember each day, but she claims she wouldn’t mind taking a test drive for a short period of time.

“I would like to try it for a day and see how I did,” she relates. “I’m  one of those people who if my boyfriend told me I don’t look good in a dress and I could never forget it, it would probably not be good for our relationship. So, I’m thinking maybe I would like to test it out first.”

Memory isn’t the only quality that Montgomery appreciates about her character Carrie. The Unforgettable star can’t resist a chick with beauty, brains and brawn.

“I like that she’s a badass, but she’s really very vulnerable underneath it,” she begins. “And I like seeing a girl who kicks some butt on TV…it’s cool.”

Unforgettable debuts 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Zooey Deschanel is a “New Girl” to a Weekly TV Series

NEW GIRL: The new comedy starring Zooey Deschanel as an adorkable girl who moves in with three single guys, changing their lives in unexpected ways, premieres Tuesday, Sept. 20 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2011 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Isabella Vosmikova/FOX

Zooey Deschanel is making her way to television in a sitcom tailor made for the actress. Though the part of Jess in New Girl seemed like a good fit, a weekly TV grind wasn’t at the top of her career path list.

“I hadn’t thought so much about doing television before probably partially because there hadn’t been a character that I’d read that I’d connected with as much,” Deschanel confesses. “I really, really connected with this character. It just felt like a very easy decision.”

But just because she hadn’t really considered a series until now doesn’t mean she’s a television snob. As a matter of fact, the actress is nothing short of an addict.

“When I go home at night I watch TV. I love TV, she gushes. “Some of the best stuff is on TV now. So, I just felt like it was a really awesome opportunity.”

Her character Jess is quirky and naive, which is why Deschanel is so smitten with her. It also helps that Jess seems a bit familiar to her.

“She has a rich fantasy life,”  Deschanel says of Jess. Then eyeballing similarities between herself and her character adds, “I think a 13-year-old me is very, very similar to Jess. When I graduated 8th Grade I got an award that is Maybe Life Really Is A Musical ‘cause I kind of had this feeling like I was in a musical all the time – and I sort of feel like that’s very much Jess.”

New Girl airs Tuesdays, 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

“I’m still recovering from my 100th birthday bash, so I’m going to keep this year’s celebration much quieter,” Doloros Hope said of her 101st birthday last May.

Today, Four months into her 102nd year, Manhattan-born and Bronx-bred as Doloros DeFina of Italian and Irish heritage, Mrs. Bob Hope died peacefully in her Toluca Lake home today.

69 years of her life was one of the success stories of a high profile Hollywood marriage.  In 1933, DeFina was introduced to Bob Hope after she had performed as a singer at the Vogue Club in Manhattan.  The couple married a few months later and lasted until Hope died at age 100.

The Hopes adopted four children where Doloros changed careers to become a full time mother, then provide for them by helping with Bob‘s investments to become one of the wealthiest couples in Hollywood.

During the first Gulf War, as she was assisting her husband entertaining the troops (as she had for 50 years) Doloros Hope was the only woman ever allowed to perform in Saudi Arabia.

But it is her philanthropy that Doloros Hope will be most remembered with her humanitarian organization and charities where she was most generous.

KAT DENNINGS ON BEFORE AND DURING ‘2 BROKE GIRLS’

Max Black (Kat Dennings, pictured) serves up her to-die-for cupcakes on 2 BROKE GIRLS on the CBS Television Network. Photo: Sonja Flemming/CBS ©2011 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Despite an overflowing film career, Kat Dennings decided to take something of a break, leaving behind A-list scripts and unsigned contracts to commit to the small screen.

At the recent Television Critics Tour press conference, Dennings, merely beautiful on camera is something more striking in person, explains why a popular cinema actor would take the leap into the minor leagues.

“…things were actually picking up, and I was getting really exciting things, and “Thor” was just coming out, and I was doing really interesting projects, but I think it got to a point where I have done so many small films, and I’ve worked really, really hard, and these things some ‑‑ they just disappear,” Dennings says, looking across the table like a classic ’40s ingenue with long wavy-dark hair, full technicolor lips and full figure.  “Four months of your life never get seen, and you start to feel kind of tired and sort of, you know ‑‑ this came right at the right time for me because I had just finished the most intense shoot of my life in a really amazing way.

Now her thoughts come easily and Dennings exhales, finds her range and explains as if reading from a well-rehearsed teleprompter.  “Drama, so intense, complete physical transformation, and I was really drained in a great way, but that emotional, mental drain that only comes by playing someone bipolar, and this fell into my lap, literally, right at the right moment, right when I was feeling, ‘What I do now?  I can’t do another one of these for a really long time.’  I want to do something where people will definitely see it, because I’m a hard worker, and I want to work hard, and I want people to appreciate it, not because I want people to look at me, but because I’ve been doing this since I was ten years old…”

So rather than the TV actor aching to claw into motion picture, Dennings has had enough of her day in the Klieglight and craves (now at least) to experience a less glamorous medium, like an award-winning legend who keeps returning to the little theater.

“I lived in the woods, so this ‑‑ I hadn’t thought about doing TV.  It wasn’t something I had intended to do, but when this came and it was Whitney (Cummings) and Michael (Michael Patrick King), and having that Michael gave me my first sort of big job (Sex and the City), it almost seemed like a gift, like this perfect thing that was just at the right time, and I was, like, God, this is exactly the answer to everything I’ve been wanting.  I’m just really lucky that this came along.”

Dennings pulls most everyone’s eyes deep into the hallway as she leaves where tonight her made-for-herself television show, 2 Broke Girls will debut at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.  Lucky too that no matter the outcome of the program, Dennings can always fall back on merely being a world-class film star.
